Judith and John started Hayling Wheelchairs in 1993.
Previously they had worked with the elderly and handicapped whilst employed by Portsmouth and West Sussex Social Services Departments.
From 1994 - 2000 they opended and ran Bryony Lodge - a Residential Home for young disabled and elderly people. In 1993, when Social Services changed the Residential scene they started what was to become Hayling Wheelchairs feeling that it was a natural progression to the independance they advocated for their Residents.
In 2000 the Home was sold and Hayling Wheelchairs moved to its' present address at Eastoke Corner.
The experiences gained from their work environments have enabled John and Judith to include many of the day to day items that can make the difference between being dependant or independant.
Assessment for scooters and manual wheelchairs are an integral and improtant part of the service offered to visitors to the shop, and home demonstrations are an excellent way of assessing the particular needs of the client, with no obligation.
